Question by gbsnmi: Desperately need help with my digital Camera Panasonic DMC-FX3?
My grand kids got ahold of my camera now everything is out of whack, When I take a picture it is Blurry The lighting seems off and when i try to take a picture with words on it it looks like a blur…… here is what it is set on now….WB Balance-AUTO, Sensitivity-100,Aspect Ratio-4:3,Pict size 3M, Quality-there are 3 mall squares on botton and on top what looks like a diamond shape,AF MODE-it is set at the 2nd H with the larger square with small black spaure in middle, AF Assist Lamp-OFF
Slow Shutter-1/8,D.Zoom-OFFCol Effect-Off
Pict.Adj-Natural, Clock set-Blank,self timer -OFF,Flash is set on Auto,Exposure it goes from -2 to +2 I have it in the middle at 0……………….I know I should have never left it in thier reach you know the story i laid it down for just a minute
IThere is no rattling this souns awful but where is the auto focus? I cant find it and i listed everything on my seetings lol sorry i just dont know to much about these things

Give the camera a careful inspection and check for any rattling sounds. There could be a possibility it was dropped. Also check to see if the auto focus is working. Does the camera have a diopter setting, check to see if it was moved.

one of the channels I watch most often only shows picture for a couple of seconds and goes black, leaving audio only. This is the only channel that it does it on. Other tvs in house connected to cable on that channel have no problems. What is the problem? tv or cable box? This model of tv has problems with the lamp and the ballast, but that does not seem to be the problem…Help
it is hooked up to a cable box and vcr/dvd player recorder. the channel that is not working right is channel 9.

I recently came upon a TV, a neighbor of mine was getting rid of it. However, it is a gorgeous TV, and I wanted to look into possibly salvaging it to see if it could still work. I’ve read up online and in manuals about the various warning indicators about other things like 5 light flashes or 10 light flashes, but can’t find an answer to my problem.

When I power the TV on, the green light flashes for about a minute, and you can hear things going on inside the TV, as if it were trying to power up. However, after this minute, it stops, and the red light continues to flash. Not five or ten times, it’s just constantly flashing. No picture, no sound.

Is this fix something simple like a bad lamp, or is it something deeper? How should I go about fixing this?

try fixya.com with the model number. There are a number of possibilities. It’s going into what’s called a shut down mode. It’s detecting a defect…..Shorted audio IC……vertical deflection defect….etc. Not an easy consumer repair but fixya might give you some suggestions if your handy with a soler iron (carefully) Do the research before you start tearing it apart. You don’t want to do more harm then good.

We just replace a burnt out Lamp in Dec 2008. I placed in order through our Warranty before it expired. The Replacement lamp just went out today (the screen went black and the volume was still going). I was watching a show and all of a sudden the power light on the TV just started blinking red, red, red, red etc,… Did we get a defective (part) Lamp from our Warranty Company? I can’t get an answers. I bought the TV at Circuit City Dec 2004! I realize the Company just went out of Business. Our Warranty ended Dec 29, 2008 too. Do you think they will replace the NEW lamp that just went bad on us after only 3 months? I need a TV repair man to let me know what I should do IF I can’t get a hold of the Company. Do I need to buy a new TV. Why are they making TVs that break down so easy these days? What happened to the days where your TV lasted 15 years? Now it seems like you are Lucky if your TV works for 3 or 4 years. I’m so tired of buying new TVs! Help me please!

Could be anything. Could be a bad lamp or it could have been a power surge. You could have a wire that is loose and when rattled shorts out. It could be any number of things and I would not count on getting another lamp from the insurance company.

you are probably hearing the ballast trying to light the lamp, but since the lamp is bad it won’t show a picture. then after several tries the tv stops trying and lights the lamp led to tell you to change the lamp.

My tv just shut off..when i turn it on it blinks green,before it would blink green then in seconds the screen would appear,now it blinks green for awhile then it starts blinking red! Did my bulb or lamp go out and i have to replace it?
How much do they cost and where can i buy them..just need the bulb or lamp not the case,just the bulb!

Odds are your projector bulb went out.

check how your tv is set in the menu section, you can reset to factory setting and start over to your liking, or the backlighting isnt set high enough for your liking or system brightness is low. i dont know the internal settings for each tv, but see how it is setup and reset till you get what you want.
if nothing works a power supply isnt putting out the required wattage, or the computer contyroller is going south. many things can cause it, but check the menu settings and if nothing makes since reset to factory specs and go from there,ok!
